Classroom Environment

How to produce a safe and effective environment to foster this ideology. A good classroom is.....

Respectful

Respect across all ways is what creates a successful classroom. Respect is not only essential for instruction, but is what will create a safe space for all students.

Nurturing

Teachers have to fill many roles, and one very important one is to be a consistent support for them everyday. Showing up everyday and offering your encouragement and support is extremely important to a classroom environment.

Achievable

Although a classroom should individually challenge each student to their best ability, a classroom should demonstrate that every student is able to succeed.

Here are some of my work that I think demonstrates my knowledge of a healthy classroom environment!

Websites based on Classroom Environment:

I created this website called "How to be a Cool Teacher." With a silly title, I am able to create a laid-back approach on educating to-be-teachers like myself on how they can improve their classroom environment. I provide insight and activities on the qualities that make a good classroom: connections, modern media, and diverse material!

I created this website as my final research project in one of my classes as something that's important in literacy in the classroom. I think one of the most important aspects of literacy is acknowledging and accepting different types of dialect and the allowance of "code-switching" depending on the environment created by the teacher. I chose African American Vernacular English or AAVE as my researched dialect and was able to compile all my ideas on the topic in order to expand my knowledge to allow Black students that use AAVE to feel comfortable in my classroom.
